Oak logs
We offer you the opportunity to grow shiitake yourself at home or in the garden on your own logs. It's not complicated at all. These logs are already colonized by mycelium about 14 months ago and are ready to harvest. The length of the log is 35-45 cm.
How to use: Simply soak the logs in cold, clean water for 24 hours. After about a week, the mushrooms will start to sprout. Shiitakes grow quickly and mature in about a week. Mushrooms should be picked when the cap is already open, but still curled down. After harvesting, the log should be allowed to rest for about 2 months. After that, you can soak the log again and get another harvest. If you have several logs, you can soak them alternately - this way you will have a harvest more often.
Storage conditions:the logs must be in the shade, in the shade, avoiding direct sunlight. It is recommended to raise the logs a little off the ground so that the tree does not fertilize so quickly. The logs must not dry out, they must be monitored and watered at least once a week, preferably twice, on hot days of the warm season. When the mushrooms start to sprout, you should not water them, because external moisture is harmful to shiitake (it keeps worse after picking, it starts to darken, etc.)
For the winter, it should be laid horizontally. Can winter naturally in outdoor conditions.
If you keep the logs indoors, they must get moisture all the time! Can be kept in a dish with water.
Depending on the diameter, an oak log can last for about 4 or more years.
